In today's fast-paced world, we are surrounded by a multitude of electronic devices and a constant stream of information. This has resulted in heightened stress and anxiety for many individuals, driving them to seek healing and inner peace. Alongside this, there is an increased demand for comforting indoor environments, leading to the question: What are the benefits of using carpets to create a healing and safe indoor space?

Make the Room Warmer

During cold seasons, the large temperature differential between indoor and outdoor environments can easily strain the body and pose potential health risks. In this case, carpets can effectively act as an insulation layer, retaining heat indoors to help regulate indoor temperatures and create a more comfortable environment.

Hold So Much Dust

it is a common misconception that carpets exacerbate indoor air quality. However, they can aid in improving it because of the carpet’s construction. In fact, carpet is made of nylon fibers that have the inherent properties of retaining dirt, dust, and particles. Nylon fibers can act as a dust pocket to trap dust within the fibers and eventually help enhance indoor air quality.

Create a Quieter Environment

The indoor environment can be noisy, which can contribute to people's stress and tension. Unlike hard flooring, multiple layers of carpet work together as a sound barrier, preventing sound from being transmitted. By absorbing sound waves, carpets help reduce environmental noise and create a quieter space.

Guard Your Safety

Indoor environments pose potential safety risks, including slipping and falling. Particularly for vulnerable groups such as the elderly and young children, these risks could cause serious consequences, even death to some degree. Research indicates that carpet, a common flooring material, exhibits a higher CSR value (Coefficient of Slip Resistance) of 0.51 compared to 0.36 for Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) and 0.35 for wood carpet. This signifies a 45% lower likelihood of slipping and falling on tufted carpet.

Moreover, in the case of a fall, the carpet demonstrates superior impact mitigation properties. Experimental findings reveal that the HIC value (Head Injury Criterion) for carpet is 497, significantly lower than the safety threshold of 1000. Conversely, wood flooring records a much higher HIC value of 1740. Accordingly, carpets serve as an effective measure to reduce the occurrence of falls or cushion the impact of falls, thus contributing to indoor safety.

Improve Work Efficiency

Studies have shown that carpets play a role in creating a comfortable and secure indoor environment. Carpets are great for reducing foot fatigue and providing a cozy feeling because of their softness. Moreover, they can help decrease noise and improve the acoustics, which can help people focus and do their best. In short, carpets positively impact the overall efficiency and atmosphere of a space.

People subconsciously perceive the atmosphere of an interior space through the tactile experience of their feet making contact with the floor. Through innovative and imaginative approaches, Tuntex endeavors to imbue flooring with greater appeal and creativity.
