Life and work aren't always glamorous; what truly matters is how we handle the ups and downs. Xenos and Ziv, our new Regional Sales Managers for Southeast Asia at Tuntex, are navigating a shift in identity and adapting to a different pace of work. We spoke with them to learn more about their lives as they embrace these new challenges.
Good Teamwork
Both Xenos and Ziv are newcomers to the flooring industry. Despite that, they have shown confidence and a positive mindset when navigating this new territory. Ziv highlights how her years of experience across various industries have enhanced her collaborative skills, allowing her to work internally and externally effectively. She embraces every challenge, stating, "With the sincere respect and the most serious and persistent attitude to manage my life and work, the experience of joining in different industries and cross-diversified departments gives me the ability to work with people who have various backgrounds, professions, and cultures to achieve successes together."
Meanwhile, Xenos compared teamwork to sports games. "just like a coach who positions the right players for success, we collaborate, support each other, and leverage our individual strengths," he says. Xenos also emphasizes that a successful team is not just made up of successful individuals, but thrives on each member fulfilling their role and utilizing their unique skills. At Tuntex, he feels fortunate to be part of a strong team where he has quickly settled in, found his place, and used his expertise effectively.
It's All About Listen
Outsiders of the sales profession often think that salespeople are "always talking". However, Xenos and Ziv emphasize that effective communication is not just about speaking; it also involves listening. By listening, sales professionals can understand the needs, feelings, and intentions of others.
In today's advanced digital landscape, many sales professionals still prioritize in-person visits to customers over waiting for interactions on social media. While this approach might seem outdated, they believe that face-to-face interactions offer unique value. By listening directly to their clients, they can pick up on "unspoken words" and provide more tailored and reliable solutions.
One Step Closer to “Yes”
Sales, in fact, often involve facing frequent rejection and a sense of disappointment. Given these constant challenges and frustrations, it’s easy to feel like giving up. That’s why it’s crucial for salespeople to cultivate a positive mindset.
As Xenos said during the interview - "sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but you always come away with something to improve on" - Each rejection, every "No" received from a prospective client, can serves as a stepping stone toward the eventual "Yes". It’s a reminder that every experience, regardless of its immediate outcome, contributes to personal growth and skill enhancement.
A new professional journey is unfolding before us, filled with the promise of growth and discovery. The lessons we learn and the obstacles we overcome will undoubtedly shape our future successes. Let’s embrace this adventure together and look forward to the possibilities it holds.
