The most interesting stories come from places with history that are forgotten.

“1933 Shanghai” was once the Shanghai Municipal Council building. It was built with concrete, glass, and steel, giving it a unique industrial aura. “1933” went through renovation in 1998 and has now become a complex of restaurants and shops in Shanghai, China.

“1933” is more than just a renovated historical building – it shows how an old industrial building is reborn to fit perfectly into the present times. Its original simplistic design makes it ahead of its time, already manifesting a contemporary style back in the early 20th century.

Inspired by the story of “1933”, Tuntex is trying to interpret the balance between history and modernism in carpet design, painting your indoor spaces with retrospective patterns without losing the simplicity of modern styles.
